| Bio: | ![]() It's a beginning of a new age... Twenty-seven. Female. Scorpio. Liberal Democrat. Recovering Catholic (i.e., recovering *from* Catholicism, not "returning home" or any of that nonsense). Pro-choice. Veggie. Former adjunct professor at several community colleges. SAHM. :-) Blissfully married to an incredible firefighter/paramedic. Mother of an amazing baby boy and a beautiful baby girl. Inked and pierced, with constant plans to get more. Changes hair color/style constantly. A work in progress...always. You should know this: I have a lot of love to give. Aidan Michael * May 1, 2006 * 4:10 PM * 9 lbs, 3 oz * 22 in ![]() Edited (in February 2007) to add: we are expecting again...but no, I'm not pregnant. ;-) We are currently in the process of adopting a baby girl from Guatemala and are absolutely THRILLED about it! xoxo Edited again on March 22, 2007: We received our referral! My gorgeous daughter took her first breath on March 14, 2007--I'm a mother for a second time now! My beautiful baby girl: Ava Grace * March 14, 2007 * 10:24 AM * 6 lbs, 0 oz * 18.5 inches ![]() But they've got planes and trains and cars I'd walk to you if I had no other way... Our public adoption journal: Additionally, on December 31, 2005, I married my love. There aren't words perfect enough to describe how blessed I am, or how deeply I feel about him. He's my best friend, my partner in crime, my lover, and my soulmate. I am so lucky. ![]() *JOURNAL STATUS: currently "friends only" and staying that way. I'm generally not adding at this time, but there are always exceptions to every rule if you seriously rock. Things to know, though--I only use the lj cut for pictures and never for content, so you read at your own risk. Additionally, I don't use filters--not ever. I swear like a sailor. I sometimes get down and dirty--about life, sex, love, and rock 'n roll. And lastly, I don't buy into the "comment if you want to stay" posts. Keep me on your list or don't--that's at your discretion.* Be forewarned, I love and abuse the following: =) Don't say I didn't warn you. I'm a very smiley girl.
(Formerly "julietsleeps" from 02.12.03 to 07.26.06, "playboy_mommy" from 07.26.06 to 03.15.07., and "stonefoxmomma" from 03.25.07 to 06.23.07. From 06.23.07 to 09.15.07, I was "courtney_ann", a name which produced nothing but lj email spam, so here you have it: I am I am a SAHM who formula fed, uses disposable diapers, wholeheartedly supports vaccinations, doesn't feed my baby strictly organic foods, etc. Oh, and I had a c-section. Don't like any of this? Don't support how I raise *my* child? Don't add me, then. There is strength in difference, but only if you're mature enough to see it. You raise your child, I'll raise mine. You support cloth diapering? Natural childbirth? Organic produce? Making your own baby food? You're a working mother? I support *you*. Those aren't my choices, but I'm not raising your child. I will never claim you're wrong due to the choices you make based on your intuition as a mother. Difference in opinion should not make either of us "unfit" or "bad" mothers. However, please be ::ahem:: enough of an adult to disagree while understanding the sisterhood of motherhood should be stronger than a difference of opinion. I usually don't find this to be an issue, but it's pretty apparent that some people should stick to raising their cats and leave child rearing for people who are mature enough to accept difference in others. I'd feel terrible if I was so petty. How I could I be the one to teach my children values with such feeble moral character? ::smiles and steps off soapbox:: I also dislike people who: are constant drama, judgmental mothers (as if you couldn't guess!), call themselves writers but can't manage to pen a simple thank you note, insist that only yuppies drink Starbucks, can't afford their babies but keep on poppin' 'em out anyway, think eating meat should be punishable by death (I'm a veg, but you'll never see me at a PETA rally), play the "poor me" card constantly on livejournal or in RL, talk during movies, drive like assholes, etc. Fuck me? No, fuck YOU. Oh, and if you ever tell me that a "c-section isn't really giving birth, it's just surgery," I reserve the right to bitch slap you into next week. Seriously. <3 I have a baking/cooking lj as well, and that can be found here: ![]() Current mood theme featuring the work of Kurt Halsey, beautifully created by ![]() | |||||||||||||
